Varg Vikernes vocalista do Burzum e ex membro do Mayhem desistiu de sua carreira que havia cido marcado por noticias muito polemicas ! Uma dessas noticias acontecia no dia 10 de agosto de 1993, Euronymous, guitarrista da banda norueguesa de Black Metal MAYHEM, é assassinado com 23 facadas por Varg .
Varg foi condenado há 20 anos na cadeia , porem saiu da cadeia após comprir 16 anos de sua pena por bom comportamento .
Varg comentou em seu blog official sobre sua decisão de abandonar o metal de uma vez , em nota ele dizia :
O Burzum apareceu em 1991 com uma gravação de guitarras e baixos, e algumas músicas com uma qualidade de ensaio. Fiz alguns álbuns com certo sucesso, mas todos traziam a música ambiental em algum aspecto. Com o tempo fui me afastando cada vez mais do Metal, e hoje só toco música ambiental. Então nesse ano (2013) acredito que chegou a hora de cortar esse laço de uma vez por todas.
Muitos de vocês seguem o Burzum há anos, alguns desde o começo, então acredito que esse projeto mereça um adeus apropriado. De forma que o "Burzum Metal" vai terminar como começou: "com guitarras, baixos, e uma música com qualidade de ensaio". “Back to the Shadows” traz os ultimos Riffs de Metal que fiz (ainda em 2012). Nunca foi lançado de nenhuma maneira, e nem gravado ou editado além do que vão escutar, então traz toda a veia do "verdadeiro Burzum" que muitos conheceram há 2 décadas.
O que falar sobre ele após essa noticia ! Será que realmente ele está desistindo de tudo , ou é apenas uma fuga dos problemas que ele mesmo tinha provocado ?
Esse é mais um capitulo da vida de Varg que não se tem uma boa explicação . O que posso dizer a vocês é que ele foi um grande musico que se perdeu em sua filosofia de vida ...
