O hardcore ressurge em faixas como Fay wray come out and play e Kill all the white people.
I Like Goils", do álbum Life Is Killing Me.
The Glorious Liberation Of The People's Technocratic Republic Of Vinnland By The Combined Forces Of The United Territories Of Europa.
World Coming Down é o quinto álbum.
No início de 2006, é lançado pela gravadora alemã SPV, o DVD Symphony for the Devil (The World of Type O Negative).

In May 2005, the band's official site, some information was disclosed that Peter Steele was dead. On the same page, was a photo of the tombstone of the singer. Obviously, the news was immediately denied. However, it is unclear whether this was a joke of their own members or if the webpage has been invaded by hackers. [Citation needed] That same year, Peter Steele involved the recording of the movie Tao of M, James L. Bills, playing the vampire Viktor Baine.
In early 2006, is released by German label SPV, DVD Symphony for the Devil (The World of Type O Negative). Along with the DVD is released a single containing three covers the guitarist Carlos Santana: Evil Ways, Oye Como Va and Black Magic Woman.
In 2007 Dead Again is released, the band's most recent work. Brings 10 new songs, and bring in artwork cover the Russian mystic Rasputin. The album's first single is the track The Profit of Doom, which can be heard on the radio heavy metal. For the clip, the band was cut, as the original has almost 11 minutes.
Although there is a certain unity in the sound of the discs, fit the Type O Negative in just one style into the Metal is a task that few fans and critics are at risk. However, the influence of Black Sabbath, for example, is clear, but even so they are classified only as Doom Metal. Besides the songs, the look "vampire" has already labeled them as "Vampiric Metal" and in other cases, such as Gothic Metal. But Peter Steele stated that the style is "Gothadelic." However, most fans labeled as doom / gothic metal.
But sadly because of a heart attack the great Peter Steele is found dead at his home on April 15, 2010.
After Peter's death many still wondered if this was true or just a stroke of marquetim, but unfortunately his death was confirmed by the band's guitarist.
After Peter died there was a singer who did what he did and never will exist only because this place is the one and only Peter Steele.
