O metal se divide em vários gêneros um deles é o Black Metal e uma das bandas mais conhecidas desse gênero é o Dimmu Borgir ..
Dimmu Borgir é uma banda norueguesa de symphonic black metal, sendo conhecida pelos seus virtuosos arranjos de teclados, agressividade e qualidade.
Dimmu Borgir iniciou suas atividades em 1993 e foi formada por Shagrath ( Samuel Shagrath ), Silenoz e Tjodalv. A formação ficou completa quando Stian Aarstad assumiu os teclados e Brynjard Tristan o baixo.

Em 1996, lançaram o seu primeiro álbum de estúdio, Stormblåst. Nesse mesmo ano, a banda sofre uma mudança na sua formação, saíndo Brynjard Tristan e entrando Nagash. Então, depois, lançam o terceiro EP Devil's Path.
Após o lançamento do primeiro álbum de estúdio, Stormblåst, lançaram, em 1997, Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, sendo este álbum marcado por conter mais melodias, surgindo logo as críticas da banda ter se vendido.
Ainda hoje, os mais puristas do black metal continuam a criticar a banda, apesar de esta manter sempre a agressividade.
Em 1998, lançaram o Godless Savage Garden, que não teve repercussão mundialmente e não foi muito aceito pelos fãs. Porém, em 1999, com o lançamento do Spiritual Black Dimensions, o Dimmu Borgir conseguiu atingir um boa aceitação dos fãs.
"Apesar de suas musicas pesadas e sons agressivos, o Dimmu borgir não é uma banda satânica. A mídia fala demais", diz o vocalista Stian Thoresen.
Mas a fama veio à tona mesmo em 2001 com o lançamento do Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, que para muitos é o melhor álbum da banda, e que teve grande aceitação do público. Com esse lançamento, a sua música expandia para o mundo inteiro. Logo depois do lançamento, saíram em turnê mundial, vindo pela primeira vez ao Brasil. Ainda com esse lançamento, lançaram dois álbuns ao vivo que são o Alive in Torment e o World Misanthropy e também saiu o primeiro DVD oficial da banda com cenas ao vivo no Wacken Open Air 2001 e com cenas de bastidores e dos lugares passados na turnê.
Dois anos depois, lançaram o Death Cult Armageddon, que também foi um marco na história da banda, levando ela a se expandir mais ainda, pois esse foi também um dos seus melhores álbuns lançados até hoje, ganhando o primeiro lugar das paradas norueguesas com apenas uma semana de lançamento.
Mais dois anos se passaram e desta vez lançaram uma regravação do seu segundo álbum. Este álbum teve uma boa aceitação do público, destaque para Sorgens Kammer Dell II. Também foi na turnê deste álbum que eles tocaram no Ozzfest e o show pode ser visto em uma edição especial do próprio disco.
Depois de uma grande turnê mundial e maior conhecimento do público, agora disparados na frente com um novo Black Metal, resolvem lançar um álbum conceitual e vem ao mundo o In Sorte Diaboli, lançamento muito bom que levou a banda a uma nova turnê mundial já passada pelo Wacken Open Air do ano passado e a turnê que estende até hoje que se espera até o meio do ano que vem. Com o lançamento do novo DVD, intitulado The Invaluable Darkness, com data marcado para 2 outubro, fãs esperam ansiosamente por esse lançamento que pretende mostrar cenas ao vivo da tunê The Invaluable Darkness Tour pelo mundial e o show gravado no Wacken Open Air 2007 e clipes.
Em Agosto de 2009 Mustis colocou no ar a seguinte declaração:
"Atenção a todos os fãs do meu trabalho com o DIMMU BORGIR: sinto que eu tenho que começar minha nota dizendo que a dedicação de vocês e o interesse em meu trabalho musical com o Dimmu Borgir têm sido muito apreciada por mim por muitos, muitos anos, e vocês têm me motivado a continuar com os trabalhos cada dia mais.
Estou informando a vocês que não estou mais associado à banda e deixei o grupo. Minha saída não foi totalmente da minha própria vontade, e senti que essa mudança era algo iminente para meu futuro. Meu tempo foi gasto vendo o fato de que muitas das músicas escritas por mim não haviam sido registradas propriamente com meu nome nos créditos. Apesar de o meu nome não aparecer em cada música, vamos dizer que uma grande parte dos álbuns como 'Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia' e 'In Sorte Diaboli' seriam bastante diferentes se eu não tivesse composto e criado o quanto criei. Infelizmente, baseado nas falhas terríveis no processo de comunicação e na falta de raciocínio lógico do porquê isso tinha sido feito desta forma, me encontrei batendo de parede em parede ao invés de encontrar uma solução profissional e razoável para o problema. Meus inquéritos e investigações sobre as questões que eu queria resolver fizeram com que no final eu fosse demitido do grupo. Sem discussões sobre isto, apenas 'adeus' (em uma mensagem de texto).
Em nota no site oficial a banda deu a seguinte declaração:
"Lamentamos informar que nos separamos de Vortex (baixo e vocais limpos) e Mustis (teclados). No entanto queremos deixar perfeitamente claro que a força criativa da banda está intacta, talvez ainda mais do que nunca. Com isso dito, estamos atualmente trabalhando no próximo álbum, e estamos ansiosos para iniciar um novo capítulo no legado que é o DIMMU BORGIR."

Para a Nossa Tristesa
Nós amantes do puro e ardente heavy metal sempre sonhamos com um festival que trouxesse várias bandas e neste ano de 2012 era para um mega festival ter acontecido no Maranhão ...Metal Open Air....
Um festival que era para ser insequecivel infelizmente foi cancelado , por vários motivos dentre eles : A segurança que era pessima , a má estrutura , o cancelamento de várias bandas , a falta de médicos por perto , a questão que só havia uma lanchonete que era bem longe do local do evento , não havia banheiros , muito menos transporte por perto ...
A informação foi confirmada ao portal do UOL por Natanael Jr., dono da produtora Lamparina, uma das realizadoras do festival. A outra produtora do evento, a Negri Concerts, não quis se pronunciar, mas afirmou que soltará um comunicado em breve sobre o assunto. "Não tinha como continuar depois do clima de ontem", afirmou Natanael Jr.
Natanael também se defendeu das acusações de agressão feitas por Negri neste sábado (21). "Eu não o agredi. Eu só bloqueei o carro dele porque ele estava querendo fugir do local do evento. Ele também era um dos organizadores, tinha que estar lá para assumir e fazer acontecer os shows das bandas que já estavam no local.
Infelizmente é esse dentre outros motivos que várias bandas não fazem shows em muitos lugares do Brasil . Geralmente a má estrutura , a má informação ou mesmo a falta de logistica e de público levam a vários shows serem cancelados e quem mais perde em tudo isso somos nós que pagamos ...
Espero que da proxima vez que tiver um evento como esse , sejá aqui em Curitiba , pois duvido muito que iriam fazer mais da metade das pessoas de palhaço ..

Dia 15 de Abril era para ser , mais um dia comum e feliz ... Porém nessa data choramos mais uma vez ao lembrar de um grande artista .
Ao pensarem em um artista muito sensual , polêmicos tanto por suas letras como por seus clipes e seu jeito louco de ser quem vem a sua cabeça ?
Se você pensou Peter Steele , você acertou na mosca . Hoje fazem dois anos que ele morreu e essa é minha homenagem a ele .
Peter Steele nasceu em Brooklyn, Nova Iorque, numa região habitada por imigrantes poloneses, escoceses e russos. Media cerca de dois metros. Antes de começar a fazer turnê junto ao Type O Negative, ele trabalhou para o 'Departamento de Parques de Nova Iorque', dirigindo caminhões de lixo e rolo compressores.
Quando o Type O Negative assinou com a Roadrunner Records, Steele assinou o contrato com uma mistura de seu sangue e sêmen.
Steele foi capa de uma edição de 1995 da revista americana Playgirl. Após saber por meio deKenny Hickney, seu companheiro de banda, que apenas 23% das revistas vendidas foram adquiridas por mulheres, Steele se arrependeu de ter posado nu e mais tarde fez referência a isso em uma música entitulata "I Like Goils", do álbum Life Is Killing Me.
Em 2005, o Type O Negative saiu da Roadrunner Records. O motivo para a saída da banda foi, de acordo com Steele, o lançamento de uma coletânea (The Best of Type O Negative) sem a autorização do grupo.
Antes de formar o Type O Negative, Steele fez parte de outras duas bandas: O Fallout e, posteriormente, o Carnivore.

No começo do metal , as mulheres não tinham vez pois a sociedade machista só queria que as bandas fossem comandadas por homens e a única função que as mulheres tinham nessa época era de exibir seus corpos em seus clipes repletos de nudes o que faziam várias bandas serem idolatradas .
Mas por mais que o mundo havia cido tomado por bandas de homens uma mulher na década de 80 fez toda a diferença e mostrou que tinha um algo a mais além de um corpo bonito que era sua voz . Seu nome é Dorothee Pesch mais conhecida como Doro Pesch ...
Ela é uma cantora, compositora e produtora musical alemã. Foi vocalista da banda de heavy metal Warlock e uma das poucas cantoras de metal dos anos 80.
A primeira gravação produzida por Doro foi um demo de 7 faixas com uma de suas primeiras bandas, Snakebite, em 1980. Em 1981 ela se tornou membro da banda Beast, mas em 1982 deixou a banda para ingressar na Warlock.Em 1987, depois do quarto álbum da Warlock, Triumph and Agony, e depois de muitas mudanças na formação da banda, Doro Pesch permaneceu como o única membro original da Warlock. Em 1989, a banda lança seu quinto álbum Force Majeure.
Seu contrato de dez anos com a Polygram expirou em 1995, quando ela assinou com a WEA (agora Warner Music Group). Em 1995, Doro fez sua primeira atuação em um programa de televisão alemão chamado "Verbotene Liebe" (Amor Proibido). Em 27 de junho de 2007, Doro foi no primeiro vôo do festival de metal Flight of the Valkyries, em St. Paul nos EUA. Ela cantou ao vivo no Metal Female Voices Fest 5 na Bélgica em 19 de outubro de 2007, e interpretou a canção "All We Are", com Sabina Classen do Holy Moses.
Mais recentemente ela foi tocada ao vivo no Magic Circle Festival 2008. Ela também gravou os vocais da faixa "The Seer", com Tarja Turunen em sua edição limitada "The Seer EP". Em 13 de dezembro de 2008 ela se apresentou com o Scorpions, a banda do clássico "Rock You Like a Hurricane" e cantou com Klaus Meine a música "Big City Nights". Também em dezembro de 2008 a gravadora Pure Steel Records lançou o primeiro tributo oficial ao Warlock e a Doro.

Em 2009, Doro também visitou o Reino Unido com a banda Saxon. Doro também cantou para Saltatio Mortis os vocais de fundo para "Salome" juntamente com Alea.
